Feeling out of place as an Avenger, Simon Williams (Wonder Man) decides to focus on his acting. However, this doesn't quite go as planned as he is let go from his most recent gig.

Too humbled by this to keep acting and too afraid of death to rejoin the Avengers, Simon takes a job as a "trouble-shooter" for a scientific technology company. Here he is focused on his new job as he struggles to fit in.

Needing to make a choice between his job and duty to humanity, he leaves to try and subdue the Sandman who is undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Facing his demons and doubts, Simon triumphs and decides - he'll remain an Avenger.
